8th grade STEM students got the chance to explore the Croatan Sound during a recent visit to the Coastal Studies Institute in Wanchese. A boat ride out to an island, fishing with sein nets, studying core samples, and a scavenger hunt were just a few of the activities that the students were able to experience.
