Superintendent Search | Community, Parent & Student Input / Encuesta Comunitaria de las Escuelas del Condado de Tyrrell

The Tyrrell County Board of Education is in the process of searching for a new superintendent to lead the school system. The members of the board are seeking your input in this process. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey.

All responses to this survey will be shared with the board of education and the community. However, your responses will be anonymous—no one will know who submitted a specific survey response or comment. In addition, any confidential student or personnel information will be redacted before responses are shared with the public.

Note: This Community Survey is for students, parents, and other members of the community only. TCS employees should complete the separate Staff Survey.

Tyrrell County Schools Uses Grassroots Arts Funding to Bring ComMotion to Students!

Through the North Carolina Arts Council, the Grassroots Arts Program provides per capita-based funding for arts programming to all 100 counties across North Carolina ensuring opportunities for citizens to experience the arts in their own communities. Tyrrell County Schools will utilize these Grassroots funds to bring ComMotion – Community In Motion to the students of TES & CMS. ComMotion will be bringing the joy of dance and movement to the community! The first of 4 live workshops for PreK-8th grade students will begin Monday, March 14th.


The Tyrrell County Schools Board of Education voted 4-1 to go "mask optional" effective today, 02/22/22. The district will review all COVID procedures and provide additional information to all other measures as needed at the March 7 Board meeting.
